Amidst fire and blood, in war-torn Ukraine, the women and children of this land continue to pursue love and life. While the horrific bombings from Russia rain down upon them, these delicate and vulnerable beings strive to maintain their humanity and tenderness in harsh conditions.
Stories of Past Generations
My story begins with my grandmother, a woman whose life changed drastically in her teenage years with the arrival of the Nazis in her village. She hid in a barn to escape forced labor, but fate led her to Germany. After escaping, she returned to her homeland on foot, filled with hope. She always said that life during war is hard, but she was lucky.
Today, a new generation of Ukrainians faces similar challenges. A friend in Kyiv told me that during the bombings, her hands start to shake. This shared feeling is spreading among the people. This shaking is not only a sign of fear but also a symbol of strength and the will to continue living.
Hope in the Heart of Despair
During a bombing in the Donetsk region, I also experienced an emotional crisis and still have not been able to overcome it. This experience taught me how to turn loss and fear into a strong voice for others. Today, I represent those whose hands shake in these conditions but continue to pursue love and life.
This war not only destroys bodies but also torments souls. Yet in the heart of darkness, love and hope bring light. Can we maintain this light?
