Escaping Death
This employee shared a heartbreaking story from that day: “As news of the attack on the Twin Towers spread rapidly, a deep sense of concern filled the air. Suddenly, the Secret Service told us we had to evacuate quickly. They warned us that the White House might be the next target, and we never knew what would happen next.”
The man, who was working near the important rooms of the White House at the time, added: “I could never have imagined that one day I would face such a situation in this place. The sound of alarms and the hurried footsteps of other employees will stay with me. Everyone was looking for a safe shelter, and no one knew what to do.”
